Police Seize Catapults Following Proactive Patrols in St Michaels |
||
|
During proactive patrols in the St Michaels area at approximately 10:30pm on Sunday 4 October 2026, Police Officers observed two male juveniles acting suspiciously. When officers approached, both individuals made off from police. Following a short pursuit, one of the males was detained and searched under stop and search powers. Two catapults were recovered and seized. Officers are now carrying out enquiries to establish whether any offences have been committed in the area and to identify any victims who may not yet have reported incidents to police. We will also be working closely with the young person and their family to identify the most appropriate intervention, diversionary activity, or enforcement action where necessary. We recognise the concerns that catapults can cause within our communities and will continue targeted patrols in known hotspot locations. Anyone who has information regarding criminal damage, anti-social behaviour, or suspicious activity is encouraged to report it to Kent Police.
